Leisure parks

Compagnie des Alpes took a leap into the world of leisure parks in 2002 through its purchase of the Grévin & Cie Group. Now the fourth largest park operator in Europe, the Group holds 13 of the most famous parks in France and abroad (Parc Astérix, Futuroscope, Grévin, Walibi, etc.), as well as a minority interest with LVMH in Jardin d’Acclimatation.

Compagnie des Alpes’ know-how combines standardised management methods with respect for brand diversity. Its leisure parks are managed in accordance with a dynamic, selective investment policy, rich in content creation and innovation (attractions, shows, events, etc.).
Each park is organised around unique themes, striking concepts and innovative attractions, all deeply rooted in the culture of the surrounding region. The aim is to enable visitors to share unique, unforgettable experiences with their friends and family in a totally safe environment.
Very High Customer Satisfaction is the Group’s top priority, as reflected in its strategy of addressing multiple areas of focus: immersion, atmosphere, quality services, reduced wait times, ease of movement, etc. As such, our employees are involved in the processes of inventing attraction and show concepts, designing themes, engineering, operation and maintenance, as well as promotional activities, sales, visitor services, retail outlets and catering facilities.
By creating jobs in the local area, Group parks contribute to the socio-economic development of the surrounding region.

Creating exceptional experiences through innovation and immersion

Redesigning the Walibi parks in France, Belgium and the Netherlands, the Futuroscope 2025 project, recreating the historical experience at Grévin Paris... through reinvention, imagination (new Bellewaerde Aquapark, Belgium) and expansion (early 2019 acquisition of Austrian Familypark), the Group is constantly revamping the experiences it offers thanks to the creativity and expertise of its people, major technological investments and a strong innovative drive.
The park attractions and events are regularly recognised by visitors and tourist and leisure industry professionals alike, as shown by the following awards: Diamond Themeparks Awards, European Star Awards, Travel d’or, Travellers’ Choice Trip Advisor, Fédération Française des Artistes Prestidigitateurs, TOPCOM, and more...

The ongoing investment plan to increase the parks’ attractiveness and capacity also aims to turn them into bona fide holiday destinations: hotel development (third hotel at Parc Astérix, Quais de Lutèce, immediately elected the best theme hotel in the world by the Themed Entertainment Association), transformation (creation of a water park, theme hotel and eco-lodges at Futuroscope) and extended seasons (Christmas and Halloween events), and more...
