Distribution & Hospitality

Created on the occasion of the presentation of the Group's new strategic directions at the time of the publication of its half-yearly results in June 2021, the "Distribution and Hospitality" business unit complements CDA's two historical businesses in the Ski Areas and Leisure Parks, and is intended to strengthen its core activities of distribution and accommodation.

This business unit brings together the leading tour operator of packaged mountain holidays Travelfactory, acquired in 2018, the leading network of real estate agencies in the Alpes Mountain Collection, the operator of residences and leisure clubs MMV acquired in 2022, as well as the brand new lifestyle residence concepts Yoonly & Friends.

With this new activity, the CDA becomes a key player in mountain accommodation. Already the bearer of numerous real estate investments on its own or through Foncière Rénovation Montagne, the CDA has always had the ambition to boost the marketing of beds, particularly in its ski areas, which are essential links in stimulating and reinforcing the number of visitors in the resorts by creating warm beds, warming up cold beds, but also improving the experience by operating accommodation adapted to 4 seasons, and making the customer journey "door to door" to its mountain resorts more fluid and easier.

The new BU has control over the commercial beds through its real estate agencies and its residence club operator MMV, but also an arm in the marketing of packaged ski holidays through Travelfactory and its Travelski brand.

Innovative accommodation

Eager to attract new mountain customers, the Group is innovating in accommodation structures for Millennials and in 2020 inaugurated its Yoonly & Friends residence concept with its very first residence in Risoul 1850. A veritable temple for young people, this product brings together all the lifestyle spirit expected by this generation, which consumes skiing in a different way, with places to share, festive, in collective accommodation for a quality/price ratio at the height of the economic market. Other residence concepts in other resorts will be created, as part of a strategy to adapt the accommodation offer to the expectations of new customers who frequent the group's ski areas.

Packaged holidays and more responsible mobility

The BU is playing a major role in the Group's ambition to achieve Net Zero Carbon by 2030, by offering more responsible transport solutions to mountain resorts since winter 2021-2022. Thus the CDA has concluded an agreement with Eurostar to relaunch the direct rail service to the Tarentaise Valley from London-Saint Pancras (since winter 2021-2022) and now from Paris (2022-2023). Financially supported by the Group, this "door-to-door" transport offer marketed by Travelski is distributed in the form of a dynamic package combining transport, transfers, accommodation and ski passes. The Group is thus acting on its CSR Impact scope 3 :  in addition to facilitating access to our sites and stimulating activity in the region, the introduction of the Travelski Express meets the challenge of drastically reducing GHG emissions linked to the transport of visitors, and represents up to 6,000 teq CO2 avoided on the basis of full trains and a shift of 100% of travelers from one mode of transport (air + road) to the train.
