For nearly 10 years, faced with the decline in tourist residence accommodation under the French ski resort model as part of the commercial lease cycle, as well as a slowdown in the development of new properties and a less-efficient traditional rental sector, Compagnie des Alpes has gradually developed a new area of expertise in accommodation, as a facilitator, catalyst and in some cases an investor at the ski resorts where it operates.

Having invested nearly €5 million every year for the past ten years, and with over 7,200 new spots renovated or created in six years, the Group is driving a virtuous economy at the resorts by promoting an upmarket move and the emergence of new players, and by enhancing the visibility and attractiveness of the sites – thereby boosting skier-days.

To make up for low periods, in 2013 Compagnie des Alpes created Foncière Rénovation Montagne (FRM). Since its creation, it has facilitated the purchase of 478 apartments and enabled the renovation and re-marketing of 2,200 beds.
The Group has also invested in the preservation and refurbishment of nearly1,200 existing beds in three tourist residences in La Plagne and Les Menuires.
Compagnie des Alpes has also participated in financing and/or leaseback operations to complement and enhance the existing accommodation offer of more than 4,300 beds.

The Group has developed a network of resort real estate agencies: 28 local agencies, which currently handle 12,900 beds and 25% of the occasional professional accommodation in the resort, focus on five complementary business lines: seasonal rentals, renovation, concierge services, transactions and co-owners associations.

In 2018, Compagnie des Alpes merged its real estate agencies and TravelFactory’s agencies under a joint management team, in order to leverage the network’s strengths in serving its customers. The purpose of this move was to improve resort visibility, encourage and support marketing, maximise bookings, offer support to owners and enhance the entire visitor experience.

Compagnie des Alpes’ resort accommodation and marketing strategy has made it a pioneer and driving force for the sustainable development of these exceptional regions.
