Voluntary restoration of natural environments / Nature 2050
Protecting biodiversity is a major concern for the Group, almost all of whose sites operate in the immediate vicinity of protected areas. This commitment, which goes beyond regulatory obligations, is embodied in CDA's membership of the Nature 2050 program since 2016. Renewed in 2021, this commitment has already made it possible to co-finance 4 projects for the voluntary restoration of natural environments as close as possible to our sites, and a 5th launched in 2023. New projects will be deployed each year, with the aim of adapting territories to climate change and restoring their biodiversity.
TO GO FURTHER
All of the CDA's ski resorts and 3 leisure parks operate close to protected areas such as Natura 2000, National Parks, National Nature Reserves, Regional Nature Parks, Protected Forests or APB zones (arrêté de protection du biotope), or inventoried zones such as Zones Naturelle d'Intérêt Ecologique, Faunistique et Floristique) or Zones Humides (wetlands).
Against this backdrop, in 2016 the CDA chose to join Nature 2050, a voluntary program (going beyond mandatory compensatory measures) designed by CDC Biodiversité, which implements nature-based actions with quantifiable results, with the aim of adapting territories to climate change and restoring their biodiversity. Project impacts are then measured up to 2050, using indicators defined by a scientific committee.
Beyond the financial and logistical contribution, the aim is also to develop relationships with stakeholders, with a view to taking joint action for biodiversity.
