Electric shuttles in Tignes and Val d'Isère
In line with the "soft mobility" policy initiated by the local authorities, the tests of battery-powered electric buses have confirmed that this technology is suitable for the use of the skibuses operated by the Group in Tignes and Val d'Isère.
The first electric buses will replace thermal buses in the fleet from December 2022.

Electric buses in Val d'Isère and Tignes
As part of the "soft mobility" policy initiated by the local authorities, the CDA has launched an electric shuttle bus in Tignes and Val d'Isère in 2021 for an in situ experimentation phase. The CDA, through its subsidiaries STVI (Société des Téléphériques de Val d'Isère) in Val d'Isère and STGM (Société des Téléphériques de la Grande Motte) in Tignes, has tested this HEULIEZ-branded loaner shuttle, which is certified "Origine France Garantie", as part of a partnership with the manufacturer IVECO. The tests were duplicated with a vehicle from a competitor. The tests confirmed the relevance of this solution, even in conditions of intense cold, high altitude and steep gradients. The CDA has therefore decided to progressively migrate its fleet of buses in stations to an electric engine, in agreement with the communities concerned. Spread over several years, in line with the schedule for renewing its bus fleet, this initiative will result in savings of 18 tonnes of CO2 equivalent per year and per vehicle. These investments also require the installation of recharging infrastructures and involve the employees concerned in new driving practices. In order to test the different technologies and models for the energy transition, the Group has chosen to order the vehicles from two different manufacturers, and according to two different modes of acquisition (traditional purchase on the one hand, and battery leasing on the other).
